I'm a 19th century kind of guy (without the imperialism, slavery, racism, medicalization of same sex desire, sexism) living in the 21st century world. I like 19th century technology such as the train, the phone, the turntable.

On Gay Television Show Is Absolutely Horrific

This is a sick gay minstrel show about shallow people leading shallow lives...Logo is a terrible disappointment...Shame.

On Daz and Chip, Perfect Lovers

"Untitled" (the billboards) is not only a poignant work, but also subversive. I too will link to my own piece on "Untitled" called "The Absent Body":

Cheers.

On Lone German Helping NYC the Only Way He Knows How

This is brilliant. As a child, I was obsessed with Lego. I wonder if our German friend was similarly fixated. In the end, it is kind of absurd, but fits well with the craziness of NYC. Looking at the Lego patches people must have stared with incredulity. Is this a joke? Is that Lego? I just love it and it is too bad that the repairs were so quickly removed.

On The Last McQueen

McQueen's stuff is really beautiful, sort of medieval aristocrat and reminds me of images in illuminated manuscripts.

And related to nothing, I saw McQueen once or twice at Squeezebox! ages ago. Both times or was it once he was surrounded by a posse of hip hop twinks...

Sad to loose a creative talent.

On GLAAD's Media Awards: The Saddest Showing Yet

Well said Matthew Gallaway! And what is also needed is an unpacking of these stereotypes in terms of their historical/social context, modes of production etc. not just blind celebration or transhistorical bs.
