I'd like to know more about Michael Shaoul's idea of the consumer metaphor--I can't track down his dissertation on ProQuest. Are there other resources for this consumer citizen idea? I have been meaning to read A Consumer's Republic for ages now and this idea seems like the sort of thing that would be in there.
On Man Expounds
He's fighting like hell for his legacy, which most liberals (like Obama circa 2008) have been shitting on for being way too conservative. But now he gets to bring down the house explaining why he was so good and the ways in which Obama is similar.
Also I thought he might just die in the middle of his speech.
