I hate to say it, but this sounds like this was written by someone living in rural Germany. I'm not going to argue Iverson's talent, but he is a huge pain in the ass who, whatever the particulars, whined his way out of two organizations in the past six months. The best comparison is Dennis Rodman. While he was grabbing 14-15 rebounds a night his shenanigans were well worth tolerating. When he moved to just very good, well, then he's not the guy you want on the bench as your 7th man. Too much white noise. This is why Marbury is out of the league. You tolerate the dude showing up 15 minutes before shootaround when he's one of the best five players in the league, not when he's a great third guard. Some players can't make the transition from prima donna to one of the guys. Iverson is one of them. That being said, someone like the Celtics or another contender might consider signing him in March when the length of time he has to be a jackass is limited and he might suck it up to pick up a ring. Or..He could sign with the 76ers, score 25 points a game and absolutely do nothing to make that team better.
On Game Misconduct, with Eric J. Herboth: Who Will Hire Allen Iverson, the Best Basketball Player Ever?
