I covered this "same" event in another state for another media outlet...and got basically the same story as we see here (and in VICE, and in DETAILS, and...)
For my outlet, the Bosses actually wanted to play this 100% straight - yet another story on the "phenonmenon" of cougars, like this was 2004 or something. Unfortunately, the event was so poorly attended (maybe 20 cougars, and NO cubs, just older men) that we've had to re-assess. If we're going to use it at all, we'll have to be honest and tell it like it is: sad, weird older women living out an entirely made-up personality type they saw on TV.
And: the event planner, RICH, seems to be the only guy getting anything out of all this. You should really run a pic of him....he looks like a lo-fi Russ Meyer, which pretty much sums up the whole thing in a nutshell.
