On Yasiin Bey Would Like You To Quit Calling Him Mos Def

Fascinating read. I've had a strong interest in Yasiin Bey ever since Big Brother Beat with De La Soul in 1996. Thieves in the Night is arguably one of the most important hip-hop tracks ever recorded. I appreciate Bey's counter-cultural outspokenness and earnestness. And his album The Ecstatic is a brilliant, radiant piece of art. Thence I was intrigued to read the following interview which highlights an extreme example of Bey's aloofness which apparently cost an Australian promoter many thousands of dollars. http://www.thevine.com.au/music/interviews/mos-def-promoter-sam-speaight-i-literally-broke-down-and-cried/
