On How They Got There: A Q&A With Rooftop Farmer Annie Novak
Annie is the founder of field-to-fork education initiative Growing Chefs and the coordinator for children’s programmes at the New York Botanical Gardens. Her love for agriculture started while working with West African chocolate farmers in Ghana, she says. She is passionate about following food to its root (her adventures have taken her to places like Burkina Faso, Togo and Fiji), and the logical outcome was to start her own rooftop garden right in the heart of Brooklyn.
