On What Your Gap Fragrance Said About You
Haha- great. I was most assuredly a "Grass" girl. I remember specifically doing a quiz in Seventeen which told me that based on my "Nature Girl" type that I should try "Grass", and I remember buying, and wearing it, EVEN THOUGH I HATED THE SMELL because I somehow believed that people who smell it and think "Now there goes a nature girl". And this was maybe the best advice I ever got from Seventeen.

On 'Crash': The Most Loathsome Best Picture Of Them All
So, confession time I guess? When Crash first came out, I liked it and thought it was important and a worthwhile message about racism. To be fair, I was a 13 year old white girl. I didn't understand racism AT ALL. Now that I've grown and am learning more about what racism really means, and what it is, and what my place is in it, I am sickened by how easily duped I was by Crash and other movies like it. I get what Anne is saying, though, that I'm almost glad it exists, because it's a good teaching tool about how white people think about racism, and what our cultural response has been to it.

On 'The Mists Of Avalon': Free To Be In Camelot
Oh man - I DID read this book when I was 12, and, yes to your prediction. To be fair I was kinda a big hippy to start with, but this book totally pushed me over the edge. Big, flow dresses all the time, explored paganism, BOUGHT ALL THE CANDLES. It did not last, although I still have a love of long flowly dresses, and I would be lying if I said I didn't have a fairy door in my house.

On My Attempt To Make The Perfect Nebraska Runza
I've been to NP! I lived in Kearney for a while, and I have eaten a Runza - although I wasn't super impressed. Maybe it's because I was not a native Nebraskan. Maybe I'd like the home made version better.

On Michael Crichton's 'Sphere': The Power of Positive Thinking
So, Nicole, I'm willing to work with you on this because I have only heard pure truth from your lips, but I really, really, can't deal with Crichton. I think his endings suck worse then King's. Also, he cannot write a woman character to save his life. And State of Fear is responsible for some of the worst anti-climate change drivel I've ever heard. But I totally agree with you about Sphere, which was horrible and incomprehensible.
