On A Reader Reports from the Kitchen: Steak and Mac and Cheese
I made the mac and cheese and it came out great. Plus, it was much easier than my previous method which involved a lot of what I now know to be unnecessary measuring and making of white sauce. (I admit I didn't tell my boyfriend where I got the recipe until after it came out well, just in case it failed. Ever since I tried making a recipe out of the The WASP Cookbook he has been very suspicious about my sources -- how was I supposed to know that the idea of WASPs cooking was a joke?)

On Sandra Tsing Loh, Thief
I liked this one, and I liked the divorce one. To me, she comes across as smart and honest. I think too many people lie about what marriage is really like. What's so wrong about admitting it's hard and that sexual attraction for other people happens even in happy marriages? I agree stability is important for children, but they are stronger than most people give them credit for in this over-coddling age.
