The guys assuming I'm heavy would be totally right. my fatness has a hell of a lot to do with my "results" - I think the title of this post may be a bit misleading as I didn't really set out to compare black vs white. I really just wanted to see what it was like "on the other side", meaning, a woman who is viewed as a desirable mate, which, generally speaking, is a thin white woman.

metoometoo hit the nail on the head. It's free and it's actually a decent site. Plentyoffish is also free but the site design is so offensively bad that I never check my profile there. Also the quality of men on POF is SUBSTANTIALLY lower. Jesus christ, it's low.
I actually think there are a lot of quality dudes on the site, and like people mentioned, it skews young and liberal. I would guess most active users are under 35 and under, college educated and in a major city.
I tried match a while back and had ZERO luck.
I think that I would be singing OKC's praises if I weren't fat or possibly if I lived in a different area. DC is a notoriously hard place to date even for the most slim and most beautiful. People here are more focused on careers than anything else

I do in fact have a waist up photo. I have a full body photo of me holding a pan full of grilled cheeses when I went camping. Gotta keep it real.
