I actually just finished Battlestar & Brideshead last week, and started Alias. It's like you're in my head.
Also, Brideshead made this expat Brit extremely homesick for anyone who wants that feeling.
@Mr. B Agreed. The story is very moving, but the writing sucks.
@jolie I vividly remember reading Wideacre on the bus as a fifteen-year-old, and actually looking around to see if anybody could tell I was ready such a dirty book. It was amazing.
@jolie When the baby turns out to be made of wax???? OMG. I'd just got over it. Now I can never have sex again, incase I'm impregnated with a wax baby.
I just defrosted my freezer to make more space for stock Jolie!!!
Can I recommend "Better than Bouillion REDUCED SALT" in pretty much any flavour? We're super fussy about salt in our house, going out of our way for no added salt everything. Best of all, you can control the precise strength of the stock, as you're using about 1tsp per litre or quart.
I've always wanted a house with a secret passageway!!! When we do our own "Grand Designs" we're totally having at least one preist-hole.
Dude - have you read The Tin Drum by Gunter Grass? There's a couple of chapters about "The Onion Cellar" where peeps buy onions and slice them up so they have an excuse to cry. Awesome book btw.
