Great article Neal, and right on. This is about an entire class of people who put in an honest week's work and can't "finish the month" as Israelis say; on the scale of everyday people living everyday lives, it’s one of the worst things that can happen in a capitalist system. Remember, most of these so-called yuppies rely on their parents' assets, and not their own, for their “Yuppie” status. Worst case, children will grow up with far less than their parents and the divide between rich and poor will reach Dickensian proportions. IL is just one nation among many in the same boat. Introduction of a few basic “socialist” balancing regulations could help. Good point about the difference between Left and Right in IL and USA. Yes, here, (shock of shocks) both “sides” can support the benefits of capitalism and of socially protective regulations.
