@Max RN Laws about this vary GREATLY from state to state. For example, it is pretty easy to be buried on your own ranch/farm in the state of Wisconsin. It does NOT involve becoming a cemetery.

I feel like you really missed the boat on one of the bigger trends happening in the funeral service - Green or Natural burial. You state that "While cremation is technically “greener” than burial..." but this is only partly true. Cremation is certainly greener than CONVENTIONAL burial, and for all the reasons you stated.
