I wanted to like this write-up but it pissed me off. Sorry David Roth but Guru didn't have trouble keeping beat, nor was he a mediocre rapper. You use the theme of the dwyck lyrics but don't even understand that wasn't guru being guru. The lemonade line was nod to nice & smooth, period.
Even your whole bit about Guru being "gym teacherish" in his lyrics doesn't make sense in light of the whole 90s braggadocios era. He wasn't rapping about guns & drugs, so that's the route he went. Btw, there were also plenty of ex girl to the next girl type raps; he certainly wasn't one dimensional.
No offense, but this was just a piss-poor recap of one the biggest contributors to rap music ever. Really undeserving and in poor taste considering it was published a day after his death.
