@Xenu01 Yeah, she seems to think she deserves this guy as...penance? or something? for her past dalliances with Bad Boys. Like this is just what she deserves and it's the only alternative to abuse, and she assumes she just doesn't get it because she doesn't love herself enough. It's just a different form of the abused mindset of taking the blame.
@Xenu01 YES! I came down here to see if I was the only one thinking, wait, what? She's telling the LW to settle for someone who thoroughly turns her off after 5 months? Polly consistently nails it, but this one makes me uneasy. I just don't see anything in him that recommends him as a partner to this particular LW.
@alicesherman Same. Same. Same.
@RobotsNeedLove Oh, I so needed to hear this. This is important.
@PistolPackinMama Between this and the greyhounds, I just continue to adore you.
No YOU'RE crying at your desk.
(Oh my god, Polly is everything.)
@Danzig! Oh my god, shitheart. Shitheart! Yes. How am I just now learning this word?
@Jane Donuts So true. That is exactly why I like flipping a coin. Seeing a choice made for me--even if I don't go with it in the end-- recalibrates my gut reaction to RELIEF! or AAH! NO! rather than sifting through the endless nuances of potential outcomes. Aaaand after typing this out I'm going to take my own advice and apply it to my current existential crisis. ["something about myself"]
@melis Thank you. THANK you.
#8. The mopey girlfriend/boyfriend of a team member who sits in Silent Trivia Misery the entire night. Optimally, she/he is taking the spot of someone who would actually participate, but it is not permissable to leave her/him out because that would be a much bigger shitshow.
"What's wrong?" "...nothing."
