sort of thinking of probably stopping by this maybe at the early parts of that time frame listed before i leave to travel to distant parties. maybe. but i don't often actually comment on this website. but it is possible. rambleramble. mostly just wondering what even happens at these things. besides the boozing. and i imagine awkwardness. and ... snacking???

@ontologicalpuppy yea, why would we want to take that perfectly good water and make it taste like malted barley and hops and various flavors of byproducts that little yeasties give off. just leave that water tasting like water.
(I can fully agree with Blue Point's blueberry being disgusting, but beer with fruit is not exactly a new or strange thing, and I just find that argument silly is all.)

But so many pumpkin ales taste so different! Some are too disgusting sweet, some are too heavy on the spice, some are magically balanced (Smuttynose, yum). Right now I have my own fermenting, 2 pounds of pumpkin puree in the mash then just a bit of spices (a vanilla bean, a nutmeg, cinnamon stick and some crystallized ginger) thrown in the end of boil. Hopefully it is in the yummy realm of pumpkin ales!
Should be ready for Halloween if any pro-pumpkin ale people want to party.
Pumpkin beer is one of the highlights of fall. And trying them all. And forgetting which ones you hate and getting really angry when you try them all over again.
