On 'Jane Eyre': Does It Totally Suck? An Argument
Jane Eyre was one of the first books that truly, deeply touched me and I thought this film version was absolutely wonderful. Though it was the most notable diversion from the book, I actually liked the way Jane's flight from Thornfield was used as a frame. Also, to say that this movie Hollywood-ed the "tamped down" passion of the novel is totally off-base in my opinion. I thought one of the film's most stellar aspects was its faithful representation of the book's slow burn romance.
