I don't know what is most disutrbing: that David Gedge is still writing songs like this at his age, that they are still resonating with me at mine, or that the gap between the two grows ever smaller each year. This will not be for everyone but everyone for whom it's for will find a lot in it for them.
“I would like Barbara Broccoli, the producer of the Bond films, to ask me to write them a theme tune. The music is so brilliant on those things. My other band Cinerama has a filmic theme. I would happily write them a new one. I get approached quite a lot to do music for films, but I have so little time I don’t get to do it. I would definitely make time for a Bond theme though.” —Um, is there anyone who would be more perfect to write a James Bond theme than The Wedding Present's David Gedge? No, there would not.
