Of course I enjoyed this collection of "12 Wu-Tang Ws in Strange Places." Who wouldn't? Despite the fact that we've seen a few of them before (the deservedly famous pizza is there). But this one here, of meatloaf with ketchup baked into the shape, should not be captioned "Wuloaf." It should be called "Streetloaf." And Wu-Tang associate MC Streetlife should write a verse about it. Over a track that samples that Roxy Music.
Questions For: The Swastika
Q. How do you feel about the Anti-Defamation League's announcement that it would no longer be counting every report of a graffitied swastika in its annual audit of anti-Semitic hate crimes? The group's national director Abraham Foxman, declared you a "universal symbol of hate," saying you were now "used as an epithet against African-Americans, Hispanics and gays, as well as Jews." India To Choose Symbol For Rupee Today
India's government has held an open call for design ideas for a symbol for its currency, the rupee-to join those internationally recognized as the dollar, the euro, the pound and the yen. The submissions have been narrowed to five, with the winner to be chosen today. True/Slant's Jeff Koyen thinks it's going to be #4, above. But I'm pulling for #2, because of its nice, broad, highly visible lines. I also think something else could work? READ MORE
Things Are About To Get A Lot Gayer/Uglier
Kurt Andersen's Studio 360 program, which is on the radio, has apparently challenged gays to remake their stupid gay flag (the rainbow flag is credited to Gilbert Baker, who is a very nice man). It's not going very well however!
