Philip Zelikow, former counselor at the State Dept. under Condi Rice (and executive director of the 9/11 Commission!), did very well on Rachel Maddow last night, talking about how in 2005 he circulated a memo in the government that rebutted the then-current memos outlining legal grounds for torture. She tried to take him to some unreasonable conclusions-although the fact that the government tried to collect all the copies of his memo and destroy them just looks terrible no matter how you slice it.
