Foursquare Monopoly Explained

Today Gizmodo carried a slightly confusing item about an "application" called "Foursquare Monopoly," taken from an interview earlier this month with Foursquare founder Dennis Crowley's brother, Jonathan. Here is a transcript of that part of the interview: "There's an application I'm planning right now called Foursquare Monopoly. And um because Foursquare's open and everyone can build applications on top of it, there's a guy in New York, his name's Christian Bovine, and he built an application in which–so you take 20 venues that you hang out with, 20 venues that you hang out at, and you take 10 of your friends to compete in this game, and everyone's given a certain amount of like fake cash, like $3000, so when you check into a venue, that's part of Foursquare Monopoly. You can buy it, if no one's checked in there yet...." READ MORE

'Rogue' Auction

Would you like a very special copy of Sarah Palin's Going Rogue that has been signed by National Book Award winner Colum McCann, hunky soap star James Franco, literary It Girl Sloane Crosley, and a host of considerably lesser lights? Of course you would. Bid now, because all the proceeds go to charity and this book can only gain in value. Think of the children, etc.

Reading 'Going Rogue' Live, This Weekend

This weekend, Rudolph Delson, our official correspondent on vice-presidential literature, will finally sit down and read Sarah Palin's memoir of all things nearly vice-presidential, Going Rogue. He will begin reading on Saturday morning, when the clock strikes 10 in Brooklyn, and will continue until he is done, making note of the experience on this site as he goes along. See you then, and God Bless America.

Why Are They So Mean To Her?

Sarah Palin has once again been victimized by the liberal mainstream media: "As you probably have heard, the AP snagged a copy of my memoir, Going Rogue, before its Tuesday release. And as is expected, the AP and a number of subsequent media outlets are erroneously reporting the contents of the book. Keep your powder dry, read the book, and enjoy it! Lots of great stories about my family, Alaska, and the incredible honor it was to run alongside Senator John McCain."

'Going Rogue': The Early Leaks

The AP got its hands on a copy of Sarah Palin's Going Rogue and offers a quick summary. Also, Matt Drudge has a brief excerpt. You will be shocked to learn that there were tensions with the McCain team during the campaign, that Sarah felt sorry for Katie Couric, and that Todd Palin is "quiet, gruff, strong, spiritual." In other news, Levi Johnston is invited to the Palin family Thanksgiving should he want to attend, and, really, why wouldn't he?

Steve Schmidt Will Have To Waste A Whole HOUR

"Once source who has seen Going Rogue says it does not include an index. That would give Palin a subtle revenge on the party's Washington establishment, whose members tend to flip to the back pages and scan for their own names. If they want to know what Sarah Palin has to say about them, they will have to buy the book-and read the whole thing."

Sarah Palin's Book Cover Revealed

Here it is, the cover to The Most Important Book Of Our Time. The flag pin is a nice touch. And the red pullover is a nice symbolic nod to her following in the red states. But what is she looking at?
