As the New York Times's State of the Art columnist, Farhad Manjoo occupies the tallest perch in mainstream tech journalism. He's a lucid writer and extremely affable—both strikingly rare charms in tech writing. More importantly, though, he produces one of the most oddly compelling Twitter feeds in media, a stream of straightforward commentary ("But voicemail.
