Doug Fieger, founder and frontman of the iconic L.A. power pop band the Knack, died Sunday after a five-year fight with cancer. Born and raised in Detroit, where he reportedly introduced bell-bottom pants and pink boots to his fellow students at Oak Park high school in 1964, the Beatles-obsessed rocker moved to L.A. in the 1970s, and hit the major big time in 1979 when his song "My Sharona" topped the Billboard charts for six weeks straight.
