'Day of the Locust' at 70

It was 70 years ago that Nathan Wallenstein Weinstein, under his de-Jewed name, published The Day of the Locust, and, for some reason, a new edition of the double-play of it plus Miss Lonelyhearts was just produced, even though the old edition of the two books together was perfect in every way. This one has a preface by Jonathan Lethem. Which, I didn't need it then, why did I need it now? And unless it mentions Mulholland Drive, I don't want anyway. Still, there is a nice appreciation of West and the book today, and I'm happy enough that people still care.
