Conan O'Brien, Animated

Those of you who have been less than obsessive about Conan O'Brien's return to television (which happens tonight, apparently) may find the Taiwanese summary to be all you need, information-wise.

Conan v. Chelsea: Oh It Is On (I Guess)

Young America's hipster TV comedy boyfriend Conan O'Brien is signed up with... TBS. That cable net promised him "the biggest marketing campaign in the history of cable." (They mean "non-subscription cable" but okay.) He will be going up against the formidable Chelsea Handler, over on E!, who apparently people watch?

Note From A Fanboy, by Adam Frucci: Ideas For Conan!

Conan O'Brien really might leave The Tonight Show. He's taken the high road with that letter that you've surely read by now, and good for him. Maybe he'll walk. Is that so bad? Conan's brief run on The Tonight Show has not been great, and I say that as an enthusiast. READ MORE

Irish People Are HARSH

Newark Mayor Cory Booker Outraged By Shoddy Tonight Show Bit

Newark Mayor Cory Booker, upset by a recent Conan O'Brien quip making fun of his city, has responded with a video. It's humorous enough, I guess, but I think we're all ignoring the real crime here: "A bus ticket out of Newark" is maybe one of the hackiest jokes possible. Where's the outrage about that? Also, if you have a chance, watch "Brick City," it's great.

"Late Show" Beats "Tonight Show" Post; It's That Kind Of Day

OMG David Letterman beat Conan O'Brien for the first time! "The Late Show" hasn't done better numbers than "The Tonight Show" in 8 months! Of course, Letterman had Julia Roberts as a guest while Conan only had Eddie Murphy. And NBC had the Stanley Cup finals, which ran late, possibly denting O'Brien's numbers even further. And everyone wanted to see more Sarah Palin-basing from Letterman. So it's still too early to panic. (Or, frankly, care.) But don't be shocked if Conan gets Hugh Grant to come on and apologize for kicking that paparazzo in the groin.

For Conan, A Brief History Of Early Reviews

Did you know that Conan O'Brien's debut as host of The Tonight Show was last night? If not, a) who are you? and b) don't worry, there are plenty of reviews this morning! Nearly every moment is examined and then stuffed into the larger context of What This Means for Late Night Television. This kind of analysis is especially useful if you are a fan of Conan but don't have access to a television and/or the flash video parts of the internet. But, to be honest, after watching last night I have no idea if Conan will be a success; or if anything he did in his first hour will come to define the next 10-15 years of the Tonight Show franchise. It's simply too early to tell. Disagree? You obviously have not yet read the early reviews of other events throughout the great scope of history that I have so generously assembled for you below.
