The Borletti Group, in league with Lacroix himself, have placed a serious bid for the company (which has never, ever turned a profit). It's urgent too-the French employees will be forced to go on vacation for the month of August if a buyer cannot be found! How those employees will be distinguishable from every other worker in Europe is unknown.

What may have been Christian Lacroix's last couture show went out yesterday in Paris. Once again, a warning about the money-men: "They thought that in two seasons they would get their money back," Lacroix told Vogue. Oh honey, they all think that. "So sad!" said Danielle Steel!
