Man, classic '80s synth music is having a rough couple of days. First there was the desecration of New Order's "True Faith" by George Michael and the Autotune machine that has apparently taken control of mind and relieved him of his faculties. Now Snoop Dogg and T-Pain do something not entirely unsimilar to Yaz's "Situation." (They used Alison Moyet's wonderful bubbly laugh and everything!) "Boom" is also one of the most nonsensical videos I've ever seen. And that's not necessarily a bad thing. T-Pain's New Chain Not Very Off the Chain

Rap Radar's B.Dot says T-Pain's new chain looks like "a bedazzled dildo." He's right. It does. Meanwhile, that massive medallion swinging from Kanye's neck during his performance at Sunday's BET awards? It was in the shape of the falcon-headed Egyptian deity Horus, and it cost $300,000. So there you go.

Jay-Z and "Autotune in Wendy's Commercials"

"It's the same thing like when the old lady in Oregon starts saying, 'bling, bling.' It's like, 'I'm never saying that again.'" That's Jay-Z, describing the genesis of his "Death of Autotune" movement to Billboard. Turns out Kanye West-whose own all-autotune album, last year's 808s & Heartbreak, probably marks the highpoint in the usage of the now ubiquitous computerized voice modulation program-gave him the idea. Interesting. (And Jay's right. Please, God, make it stop.)
