Fun people post zany mini-narratives and ridiculous pictures on social media all the time. But sometimes that’s not enough for us. We like details. So we have to ask.
What we know: recently, BuzzFeed employee Shani Hilton tweeted this. What we don't know: everything else.
Tipsy at the grocery store = a basket full of nonsense
— Shani O. Hilton (@shani_o) August 16, 2013
Shani. What happened here?
I’d had one of those days where I spent six solid hours in meetings and went out with a coworker for a glass or two of rosé at Preserve24 (did you know they are importing a two-ton block of glacial ice from Greenland? ha ha what). On the way home, I stopped at the grocery store because at that moment it seemed imperative that I purchase some milk for tea.
What are some of the ridiculous things that you ended up buying?
I ended up buying some organic crunchy peanut butter (I don’t really eat peanut butter, but it goes into a dressing I like to make for kale salad. Note: I didn’t have any kale at home), gummy worms, one avocado, two pounds of cherries, and a tube of tomato paste.
Lesson learned (if any)?
The cherries were a total impulse purchase and horribly expensive… but they were also extremely delicious, so I guess it all worked out?
Just one more thing.
I did not get any milk, but it turned out I had a carton in the fridge.
