—Talking about his new book Gun Guys, sexy gun-owning gun guy Dan Baum approximates the bigotry faced in America by gun-guy Democrats to that of gay men.
I have never heard a slang term for "gun people" besides "gun-nut", and that's fairly accurate. What is the godawful language besides mockery? Your big gun is compensating for your little dick. That's the worst I can think of. These gun people with their precious toys. This bullet bully, armed and fabulous.
Anyone who isn't directly involved in law enforcement but feels the need to carry a concealed gun can really only be politely described as a 'nut' and whining about it hardly makes a guy look more reasonable.
@City_Dater But if a coyote sees that a rancher/farmer has a gun, the coyote will attack the land owner and try to take the gun, just like the gov'mnt. This is why we need to be able to carry concealed guns.

@deepomega I think a gun-nut is someone who is really into guns, not an insane person. Just like I'm a booze-hound, I'm not literally a hound dog.
Yeah, and just like a gay man in a homophobic family, you love these people, and they hate what you are, and there is nothing you could do about it. Because each gun-nut is born with a gun and can never get rid of it.

Fun story! My husband once fired a guy for something work-related.
The guy got angry and called husband at work and threatened him and our family.
The fun part is that he called my husband from a gun range and punctuated his anger by shooting off his AR15.
I found out about it when the sheriff sent a deputy to sit outside our house for a week.
But since the angry ex-employee wasn't specific ENOUGH with his threats, they couldn't do much else. They did visit his house and he proudly showed off his large collection of legally purchased guns.
Luckily (?) the guy did something really crazy a short time later and then the government came and took his guns away. At least that's what my husband told us and we're just going with it.
But clearly, not a gun nut.
I'm sorry he's been on the business end of a gun-bashing.
