Oh, please. I go home to NYC from Spain and the wines I pay 5€ in Madrid retail (which would cost 11€ in a Spanish restaurant) I see on NY restaurant wines list for $45. I know booze gets a big markup and the Yoo-was (formerly the Euro) is high, but jeezus.
