Ooh, "State of Play" is being re-aired on BBC America starting tonight. ("The cast is so loaded that a very young, baby-faced James McAvoy doesn't even get mentioned in the opening credits.") Even some of us who unhappily suffer with no BBC America HD are going to record this.

I just watched In the Loop (streaming on Netflix!), which is sort of a spin off movie from the series I think? James Gandolfini like you've never seen him (where "you" = "I", perhaps). And, if you've only seen Peter Capaldi as the affable romantic in Local Hero, his portrayal here may surprise you (lots of swears).
@laurel Erg, wrong. I was thinking of The Thick of It.
@laurel Ha! I did the same thing! Someone told me to watch "In the Loop" once when we were both drunk, and then a month later I added "State of Play" to my Netflix, and then four months after that it arrived and I was like, "Oh, that British political comedy about the war!" It took me just one disc to figure out my error.
But yeah, this was a good watch.
OMG Bill Nighy is unbelievable in this. SO good.
@barnhouse This times a million. Meryl Streep in that abomination of a Hollywood remake didn't even remotely hold a candle to him. Plus Kelly Macdonald. Lordy what a good show
one of my favorite miniseries ever. Absolutely gripping.
