Happy Deceleration Thursday, where everyone who still has a job starts quarter-assing it in anticipation of the Days of Dread ahead. How will YOU be slacking off for the rest of the week? Tell us in the comments!

I got in early and got a head start on my slacking.
@NotAndersonCooper There you go again, over achieving at under achieving.
@NotAndersonCooper Probably time for a break, then.
@NotAndersonCooper I'll be slacking the same way I always do – commenting on Awl stories.
The backup QB for the Giants? Didn't they start slacking last Sunday?
I work for Large Unnamed Shipping Company. No deceleration here. I'll be fielding teary calls about how I ruined Christmas/Hanukkah/Solstice through Saturday night.
@Slackferno those people only have themselves to blame if they didn't stock up on alcohol and employ your company to deliver their booze at the last minute. I can think of no other way Christmas could be ruined.
@Slackferno- You shouldn't have thrown that computer monitor over the fence, dude.
@Slackferno This is the best part about working at a bar. Those Christmas Eve customers are just so grateful that I'm not their families and that I give them booze. (Holidays are more manageable with a level 2 hangover for most people, right?)
internet, coffee by the gallon, Mariachi El Bronx.
Oh, and I guess I'll be receiving phone calls about IMPORTANT LIGHTING AND DECORATING ISSUES.

"Tell us in the comments!"
Well you answered that for me.
(JK actually we close the paper tomorrow and I have that countdown going on so I have extra work to do, la la.)
@Maura Johnston Hurry up with that countdown already! Kids want to know.
I waste the time reading stuff like this because IT has blocked youtube.
Cleaning. Wrapping. Packing. Prepping the annual conflict of interest questionnaires. Addressing the last few cards. Figuring out how many of the presents I bought for myself I can bear to give other people.
Went to daughter's 4th grade holiday party, and got offered tickets to amazing things by people who are in them. Briefly psyched, until the realization hit that my daughter's parties are cooler than mine.
trying to figure out which one of my drug dealers is still in town, putting CPS #s for yuba county on speed dial (awful speed freak white trash neighbors of my in-laws related), and watching shady blaze videos on youtube.
@iantenna I know who I'm coming to visit over Christmas/Hanukkah/Solstice.
Writing and, um, you know, not finishing my shopping because there's no need for that.
@katherine That's what tomorrow is for.
I brought Sally Hansen nail things with me, so I can do my nails now that I've finished all my actual work. Only 6 more hours til I can go home…
I'm at a tiki bar in Florida right now!
if this is a contest i'd like to nominate you for the gold medal.
