Leonard Cohen, "Show Me The Place"
Show Me The Place by leonardcohen
I am as big a Leonard Cohen fan as they come, but I still couldn't stop from mentally adding the words "On The Doll" when I first saw the title of his new song. Does that make me a bad person?

Ooh, hurt me Leonard/I flinch so when you do…
No, Balk, it just makes you depressing.
Ha no! It makes you delightful! (Cripes, the holidaytime treacle is already fucking setting in. I'll be a pile of complements and mush come December 1 if this keeps up.)
Yes, it makes you a bad person, but would Leonard want you to be any other way?
I'm still hung up on your use of "big" and "come" in the first sentence, so, relatively speaking, I think you're doing all right, morally.
Show me the country where the bombs had to fall,
Show me the ruins of the buildings once so tall,
And I'll show you a young land with so many reasons why,
There but for fortune go you or I.
Phil Ochs
The choir heard on Leonard Cohen’s “Show Me The Place” was written and performed by Jennifer Warnes.
