Let's Just Call it a Protest Movement
What did you do this weekend? Were you among the couple of thousand people protesting Bank of America in Boston? If so, YOU ARE AWESOME. (Although I have no idea why the Boston Herald referred to the 24 arrested at that protest as a "rogue's gallery." Isn't that… odd?) Bank of America should have people protesting outside every branch, every day. Also apparently there were some other protests, in New York, I guess? It only made page A18 of the Sunday New York Times national edition, where it said that only 500 people were arrested, not 700, so, must not have been that big a deal. (To be fair, they've been covering it well online.) Meanwhile, a word to the NYPD? Arresting working reporters and photographers is a real sad tactic. Also! Would you like a sense of how this is playing overseas? REAL BIG. Now the real fun begins.

This was… wow. Someone wasn't thinking when they gave this quote: Bank of America spokesman T.J. Crawford dismissed last night’s trespass and protest as a public-relations ploy.
“These individuals choose to ignore the facts and instead focus on increasingly aggressive PR stunts,” Crawford said.
Hmmm, not unlike the increasingly aggressive PR stunts executed by the banks to convince people they could afford to buy homes that they actually absolutely could not afford to buy? Right then. Hey BoA, my account – you know, the one with the chunk of down payment money stashed away in it? – is getting yanked today. NICE GOING!
re: "rogues": Probably b/c he's the same guy who wrote this

@Abe Sauer That and also The Herald = The Post but with more dropped Rs.
@Abe Sauer OMG. GIGGLING ILLEGAL UNCLE!!!
@Choire Sicha Halloween Costume Dilemma SOLVED.
Would just like to let Krucoff know that there’s a big, pretty picture on the front of the free Express rag the Post hands out at the Metro this morning and when I took one the guy was only slightly bemused to see me snarl, “Media blackout,” as I did.
The boy with the Arab spring.
I'm taking heart in the fact that "Miller Finch" got the most thumbs up.
@hockeymom I bet he writes mystery novels based on the TV show "Crazy Like A Fox".
So. Why did they take the bridge? Doing it wrong. Occupy Wall St. should get real next weekend and take a bank or two. How about the Chase HQ for their donation to the cops at the start of the protests? Says me.
The Chicago location is really lacking any decent amenities.
Sometimes you need to sacrifice symbolism.
I'm on my phone in a coffee shop at an awful hour waiting for my car to be fixed, so: can someone tell me why the BofA protests were on? Is this about checking fees?
@deepomega you probably won't ever check this, but just in case! The BoA protest was against foreclosures, as well as the checking fees. It was unrelated to Occupy Boston, but they ended up in a happy mutualism. If you're in the area, stop by Dewey Square, it's a good time.
Were the Free Mumia people there? You can't have a real lefty protest without them.
This is all starting to remind me of the first months of the Tea Party organizers complaining about lack of coverage. Just keep protesting away lil campers!
And remember to vote.
And, oh, find a media equivalent to News Corp.
@KenWheaton And billionaire brothers to back you.
Awl coverage this weekend was top drawer. Good stuff guys.
The French are calling them "indignés" ("the outraged") — can we use that, or is it too John Kerry?
I think this isn't going to help Ray Kelly's mayoral chances – which is, in part, what I think this is about. Go Chris Quinn!!!
