It's a fair point. That smell is going to be there long after we're all gone.
The solution, obviously, is to move the Passaic Valley Sewerage Commissioners water treatment plant out of what is almost certainly the most heavily industrialized part of the state, and put it in some tony, forested suburb with land to spare. Christ, what an asshole.
@boyofdestiny: That neighborhood was a heaven for drag racers in the not-too-distant past. The smell didn't seem to bother them.
15E? What are you doing driving through there with your windows down in the first place?
@Mr. B I think my immunity to polio is a result of years of driving past 15E with the windows down.
I've stopped worrying about the smell on that stretch and instead become infuriated that, between the Meadowlands toll and Exit 11, whatever musical device I'm playing starts skipping to beat the band.
