The Pugilist At Rest
"It’s no secret that I love pigeons. They have been a fascination of mine since I was a young boy, and they continue to bring me great peace even now. People are curious as to why I have such great affection for them. The answer is simple. It’s because they aren’t difficult to understand. Unlike human beings that have the capacity to manipulate and deceive one another, they are basically animals of habit. If you treat them well, feed them, give them safe housing and lots of love, you can expect a good relationship with them."
—Mike Tyson, oddly like Bert from Sesame Street.

This story about Tyson and his birds by Awl pal Reeves Wiedeman was delightful, especially the anecdote at the end about Tyson's first punch, a story so crazy that it couldn't possibly be untrue.
@boyofdestiny
I liked that piece too. But there's still no way I'll ever watch his reality show.
"Also, as Ozzy has proven, you can bite their entire heads off, not just an ear!"

Other differences between pigeons and people:
-Pigeons will never accuse you of rape
-Pigeons can live on stale bread alone
-If your pet pigeon dies you can legally cook and eat it
@deepomega Also, not as many gay rumors surround pigeons.
