Ladies Aged 20 to Mid-30s Apparently Deliver the News Best

Don't think I've ever seen a job posting for a female video host w/ an age limit. Wonder if they'd do same for a male. http://bit.ly/i2eqOGTue May 03 15:33:53 via TweetDeck

But this job posting for a "tech-oriented magazine show" is, you see, on the web, ladies. On the Internet, no one wants to see your old faces.

I worked in the TV news business for 10 years and I can definately say that if you are pretty you will go much further as a woman. I have seen many attractive terrible reporters move on to big markets while talented less attractive woman stuck in a small market rut.
It isn't that you have to be attractive to get the good jobs, you just need to be very very good to compensate for not being good looking.
I remember one station I worked for in which the news director offered a reporting job to a production assistant without a journalism degree due to the fact that she was very good looking.

Also maybe it's illegal? Aren't there laws against age discrimination?

@jfruh
It can be said that your image is part of your qualifications. They would never say that you have to be a certain age, they will just only consider those who fit the image they are trying to display. So, thanks for the resume tape Oldie McWrinkles.

Growing up I wanted to be a television news weather forecaster. I studied for it and was a fairly good forecaster extrapolating maps, current conditions, and sixth-grade science. Enter Grandma Lucille who in later years would yell at newscasters on the television screens not for the news they were giving, but for their delivery of the news: "Rodney, you don't have the looks to be a weatherman."

So that ended that.

Or else you can be on radio like Windsor Johnston and bang 65 y/o men.

@Rod T I don't understand. You're nice to look at!

"Revision3 Show Hosts

We've got some exciting new programs in the works, and are looking for super-talented folks to help bring them to life on-camera. Enthusiasm, exceptional storytelling ability, and a passion for producing internet video are a must."

In any case, a glance reveals that several of the male hosts must be above the age of 40.
