When people know people who are killed by guns, they seem to be less likely to support legislation such as bills allowing concealed weapons on college campuses. (via)
Being shot oneself may also be helpful — although I was quite wary of firearms before ever being shot with one.
I can personally verify this.
But that doesn't mean that concealed weapons are the problem–it's people having too many friends and family members.
