I always wanted to star in my own TV show.

Here, have an internet!

Well … Two of my favorite web places are The Morning News, where Paul Ford himself is a contributing writer, and Maud Newton's litchratchure website, and neither of them give a nickel about the Why Wasn't I Consulted (WWIC) factor, and they work just fine with no access from the peanut gallery. TMN has a page called Reader Mail, which is an editorially-produced page currently consisting of twelve (12) reader letters and answers from writers and editors, dated between March 2008 and June 2010. Gutenbourgeois? I should say so. That selection of reader letters might as well have been set on a Linotype machine, printed, scanned and uploaded. But that's part of the web I live in.

Much agreed. The web is much too heterogeneous to pin down in this way. Even so, some interesting points made about the participatory aspects of web use, how much less passive it can be than television (which in the olden times you used to have to just yell at it and nobody at all would hear you.)

One thing wrong with the internet is that damn link doesn't work.
