Any Loser Can Buy a Gun in Arizona: The Video Proof

Did you want to pick up something with "stopping power" in a 9mm Glock? Get an Arizona state ID and you're gold—no background check, no recording of the sale, nothing. This Mike Bloomberg-sponsored investigation into "casual gun sellers" at trade shows in Arizona is actually really amazing—particularly when the gun sellers nod and smile while being notified the undercover buyer couldn't pass a background check. (Mike Bloomberg! Every time you want to start a mayoral recall campaign, he does something awesome.)

Yeah, but think of all the lives that could have been saved if everyone went by Arizona gun laws! DID JOHN WILKES BOOTH HAVE AN ARIZONA DRIVER'S LICENSE??? Didn't think so.

Does AZ still give drivers licenses for life? When I lived in NM, I knew people in their 50s who still had the AZ license they renewed when they were 21.

I can pass the background check and shoot, but I don't know how to drive. Can I do this in reverse and get an AZ drivers license?

Well, not to be technical but I think he bought a Sig, not a Glock.

BUT ALSO, this is awesome. And that seller will probably get in more trouble from peers for selling to a guy who clearly sounded like an illegal anchor-babying drug smuggling job stealing Mexican than for maybe breaking a rule that he'd probably be able to deny in court

If I wanted "stopping power," I wouldn't buy a 9mm, but rather the .45, which also comes in the compact model for The Ladies.*

Yeah, my mom's revolver is a .45 and she's barely over 5 feet tall. Intellectually, I know that she has fired it, but instinctively I can't believe that she did so without flying off into the stratosphere.

One of my Burning Man campmates told me that growing up in Wyoming, her high school boyfriend took her shooting. The first (and only) time she fired a .45, it kicked back and knocked her out.

Tarnation – Yosemite Sam would be proud to own that.

My uncle lives in Phoenix, and when my parents were out visiting him some guy shot through one of those speed radar camera rigs with a semiautomatic weapon as he drove past.

Unfortunately it was being serviced, and he killed the technician inside.

Why isn't NYC a city-state yet? We seem to have more sophisticated investigation/counter-terrorism operations than most countries.

Glad that Cheech Marin is doing his part to fight illegal handguns.

I kept waiting for Sister Mary Elephant to arrive on the scene and introduce some Catholic discipline to the gun market.

And am I wrong, or does this guy sound like Tommy Chong?
