"There is negative energy in the air here…." So begins the story about how sweat lodges are killing the New Age tourists in Sedona.

My mom used to take my brother and I on the occasional road trip there. She purchased a lot of crystals.

Craziest drivers I've ever seen in my life, in Sedona. Roaring around like they were trying to outrun a unicorn stampede.

I've only been there once, but I was amused that a cafe owner in the Tlaquepaque Mall had the (non-crystal) stones to include on his menu the "Vortex Veggieburger."

I'm not all that surprised that people are dying in sweat lodges, they are fucking tough. I did a sweat once when I was working for Outward Bound, on a First Nations 'youth at risk' course. An Ojibwa elder came to make a sweat lodge for these kids and it seemed to me that it would be interesting to join them in there. And it was so damn hot, and so dark. I could barely stand it; I was sucking the air close to the ground where it was cooler. But it wasn't just an endurance test; uou really were transported to some other place, some limbo netherworld. And some pretty powerful stuff came up as the elder gave each of us a chance to talk.
As we were all reaching the breaking point towards the end, my co-instructor Harry reached over and held my hand. We never spoke of that again.

"And the spiritual association is pushing the importance of ethics among spiritualists. "

Not being a fraud would come under ethics.

Did anybody notice how poorly edited this story is? The Times is having a real proofing crisis.

"Mr Ray faces three manslaughter charges for the deaths transitions of Kirby Brown, James Shore and Liz Neuman." FIXED
