Was Today's Terror Noise a "Dry Run"?

So will there, or will there not, be a crew 'post-mortem?'
So, at the risk of saying serious things on a Friday afternoon – do the bad people actually have to hurt us physically for their terror to be succesful? Or is whipping us up into a frenzy over maybe-but-not-actually-bombs, ya know, terrorizing enough for it to count as "Point, Bad Guys"?
And if so….what if we just LOL at them and don't give a shit? Could taking a nihilistic cavalier attitude toward the potential of fear be a real tactic for beating them?
Just getting on public transportation when there's a bomb scare every other week pretty much requires a "nihilistic cavalier attitude," but what enables citizens in target cities to carry on isn't necessarily a sensible policy for the people who have to, well, actually fight the terrorism.
I'm just going to take the opportunity to post this here http://kfmonkey.blogspot.com/2006/08/wait-arent-you-scared.html and call it a day.
Maybe this is all just an S&M scene gone bad.
GREAT. NOW I'M NEVER GONNA GET THAT PAIR OF SHOES I ORDERED.

It's like you don't even listen to me at all.
One package was an envelope full of receipts, so we\'ll have to wait and find out what they were receipts for.
Inspector Grizman flicked slowly through the receipts. "Turtle habitats, the Oxford book of puns, booze, ice trays … my god! It's an Awl commenter. We're all doomed."
Total make-work by the terror-fighting crowd.
Our 80 billion dollar annual intelligence budget has to justify itself somehow
I'm so sick of the world today.
Yeah, fuck this. Like that "DC TERROR BOMB PLOT" which turned out to be one dude who was goaded into joining a phony scheme concocted by the feds to entrap sad little wannabe martyrs.
So, like, um, can I stop shitting myself over this or what?
