Pet Tigers Totally Legal, Totally Awesome in 44% of America
Great news for all my cat-loving friends! "It is perfectly legal for a private individual to own a tiger-no license required-in nine U.S. states, including Idaho, Ohio, Alabama and North Carolina. (An additional thirteen states require private owners to obtain a permit to keep a wild animal.)"

FINALLY.
(How did they pick which four out of the nine states to share with us?!)
Don't forget the territories of Siegfried and Roy.
I wondered that too! Maybe they picked the ones that sounded the most stereotypically hickish? Although in that case, Alabama should have gotten top billing.
I just don't have the Frosted Flakes budget to keep a tiger. Truth is that I have blown a ton of money on my pet Dig'em Frog's 7-bag-a-day heroin habit.
You should see the amount of Sugar Crisp my bear shoots in himself.
I saw Sonny the Cuckoo bird giving head to Quisp just for a little of that sweet, sweet salvia.
@Capn: THANK YOU for calling it Sugar Crisp and not Golden Crisp as they bastardized it when people started saying 4 buckets of sugar in kids' cereal like it was a bad thing.
Corn Sugar Crip, Now with Vegetables!
Ohio might not be on that list much longer: http://deadspin.com/5585327/
Everyone knows Ted Strickland's in with the furry lobby.
Ha wow my math was wrong earlier. FIXED!
But the URL will be wrong… forever.
My grandfather shot a fucking tiger in India, and I have the skin of a leopard he shot on the dining room wall of my house. AND ALL THIS SOUNDS MORE HUMANE THAN KEEPING A LIVE TIGER AT YOUR RESIDENCY.
You have a leopard print dining room?
You do realize any cougars visiting your abode may attempt to wear your dining room as a chemise.
Why am I not surprised by that list of states?
There is a whole bunch of states that exists for no other reason than to have crazy-ass state laws that get them coverage like this.
Heavily Republican/Regulation Hating States = more deadly zoo animals and semiautomatic for your neighbors!
*weapons. semiautomatic weapons. -headdesk- "semiautomatic_________."
"including Idaho, Ohio, Alabama and North Carolina"
Ah, I see. Including some of the states we might have actually heard of, usually for other wacky reasons like this.
It is also legal for your pet tiger to marry your cousin in those states.
What about bears? Can Balk own a bear yet?
This could have never been a Listicle Without Commentary. I see that now.
But can you ride it down the street like a WoW character?
Once you hit level 60, bro (or something?)
He wants chickens he wants livers.
I used to know a woman in Rio with a pet lion. Very sweet animal that completely terrorized a neighboring favela when it escaped one day. Thankfully, my acquaintance rounded the cat up before the cops arrived.
Tiger the tiger
I'm guessing dude in the photo doesn't realize that Tony is just saying a short grace before digging in…
