We did not notice in this morning's papers the announcement that the Algonquin Hotel is now to be a Marriott. (The cat, you'll be happy to know, will survive the transition.) I could choose to be disturbed by this news but hey, maybe it'll get a good steam-cleaning.

Yeah, it does need a refurb, but still "Round Table replaced by Salad Bar" stings a little.

Marriott Round Table just doesn't have the same ring, somehow.

I was just going through my things before a move, and found one of the 'History of the Roundtable Cards' they have at the bar a date had slipped into a jacket pockets years ago…another piece of the ny I came here for fading away, its sad…but surely we're making more? Maybe?
Sigh.
