The Job Board: Here Is A Job!
It's the third installment of our weekly experiment, the Job Board! Do you have a job for offer? Do you require a job? Then post within. Most likely you should include an email address or contact info. And look! Here's a job! Even if you think Meryl Streep is "kind of a hack," there's a job for you writing "original blog posts" about celebrities!

On the off chance that anyone knows of any opportunities for a marketing writer in Tampa, please let a girl know! I have a solid 6 years of experience, am a lot of fun to work with and can be reached at k3lly4nn@gmail.com.
Okay, let's try this again:
I love my job, but part-time at JCPenney is not going to work forever. I am a creative guy just hitting my stride again, and want to strike before this feeling passes. I live in the Philadelphia area, and either want a full-time job (just about anywhere) that can someday get me out of my family's house, or pro bono work that gets me noticed. To that extent I am working on a writing project or two which will be released within the next month.
Please contact me at tdkeiser@gmail.com for questions, requests and/or clips, and I will get back to you this evening.
Thank you.
We're looking for PHP / MySQL / Javascript developers in Tempe, AZ. We're a nationally known company with competitive pay and a super cool little crew. Contact me at jon –at- jonroig.com if you're interested….
Well hi! I just graduated from college and want a job in publishing or writing or anything like that. I am unfailingly courteous when it comes to office kitchen etiquette, but am willing to be assertive when necessary.
I'm also tall, and can get things on high shelves for you.
But mostly I would like to write or edit the writing of others for money, whether that involves high shelves or not.
I'm willing and able to work on anything, but have been doing book publishing and science journalism most recently, if you need to pigeonhole me in order to hire me.
I have no children, and very little in the way of expensive toiletry habits, or anything like that, so a "living wage" for me is probably less than "what real adults are supposed to be paid," if that's still a thing. I live in Prospect Heights for now. You can email me at samuel.august.dean at gmail.com.
N.B., by "doing book publishing," I meant interning part-time at a publishing house, and by "doing[...]science journalism," I meant that I was the science section editor for my school weekly for my senior year, and would like to continue doing that kind of stuff.
I'm looking for a job in New York! I'm a recent alumna with a strong background in design, publishing, and technology. As an undergrad I got to do web consulting for one of them museums associated with my university, I've dabbled in web design, given the tiniest of budgets I can throw any event from fashion show to concert, I'm an assistant editor at The Morning News, and I've been blogging since 1999/tweeting since 2007.
Rather than being a designer who codes, a writer who designs, or a coder who can write, I think it's really important to combine all those skills in my work. I love the internet, talking to people about their work, and how those two things intersect. Hello!
eelzon at gmail dot com !
When I'm not commenting I'm adding to my 10-plus years of experience as an editor in DC, a gig that has become gradually deskilled for reasons beyond my control.
My own published writing includes work in the Los Angeles Times, Gastronomica and The Bark as well as two collections of poetry, one children's book and a forthcoming essay collection. I have also had a one-act play produced in London. In 2007 I was awarded a Fellowship from the National Endowment for the Arts.
I hold graduate degrees in English and International Affairs, speak Spanish, and have an intense interest in environmental issues.
I can be reached at smitros@gmail.com.
Let's give this a shot. I am a journalist and social media consultant looking for some new clients. Or, if you have an unusually interesting full-time project you need help with, contact me by all means.
I have 5+ years of experience, can run complicated content creation projects in my sleep and have some good stories to tell when not writing skeds or developing Twitter/Facebook brand strategies. Specialties include journalism/media, food, culture, science and foreign news. My past bylines and CV are pretty sweet too. Email me at nealnyc (at) gmail dot com.
This may sound like a joke but I'm dead serious:
I am strongly considering leaving law school to start making porn. I somebody interested in following me and writing a sort of "how to" column about how to become a porn director. What I need is somebody in the NYC area I can learn from. I am more than willing to do all kinds of gopher/bitch work, I mainly want to learn what it's like on set and in an office related to creating smut. I don't care what kind of porn you're making, as long as it's legal.
I *HAVE* somebody interested…
Not in NYC, but maybe worth a phone call…
New Frontier Media in Boulder, CO.
Profitable, adult entertainment company, think they are mostly into distribution.
Also…they are hiring…in Boulder and LA.
Producers, promotion, web, Spanish and German a plus.
No, I do not work there…and no, I don't know anyone in the industry. My connection is superficial.

Thanks! Will check it out. Got fam in Boulder.
tumblr is looking for a dev: http://www.tumblr.com/jobs/web-app-developer
I just found out on Monday that I'm losing coverage on my government contract and will soon be laid off.
I currently work in Communications for the Navy as a contractor but I have also done membership and fundraising at nonprofits, business development, and PR. I am also a half way decent sailing instructor!
Here is my linked in page: http://www.linkedin.com/in/sarahmeharg – please feel free to contact me at the gmail account of the same name.
After my last post, I can report that no one contacted me with leads or requests for samples of my work. Sigh. However, I did get two inquiries about an opening for a "very boring and very stable day job that provides you a livable salary and health insurance" at my current office.
Let's give this things another go:
I am looking for any FT online communications or social media openings in an arts-related environment, ideally with a non-profit. I am also open to freelance writing work.
I have worked with Flavorpill.com, VICE magazine/ VBS.tv, and interned at the United Nations Department of Public Information. I blogged for Flaunt magazine, made online style guides, and have had my photography published in a few art zines. I also know some things about video production and bartending. Interests include public art, live music, and US national parks.
Currently, I work for a large non-profit doing web content production and management. But after five years in the City, I have decided to buy a Subaru and drive far away from New York. I will be outta this hole by September 1st. I have no concrete plans, other than visiting my parent's house in Atlanta and maybe venturing to Los Angeles. Please email me if you know of anything good: helloemilie@gmail.com
Conversely: If you are a graphic designer or a ‘digital content manager' based in NYC and looking for a very boring and very stable day job that provides you a livable salary and health insurance, you should email as well. I know of two openings.
I'm looking to publish a weekly article reviewing Washington, DC's kink/sex positive happy hours and munches. It would have the same features as a regular bar/event review–type of crowd, cost of drinks, critiques of the featured entertainment–but would also serve as a primer to those wanting to jump into to DC's BDSM and kink scenes and weren't quite sure where to begin. The series fills a need in that there's not much information on the quality of kinky events, happy hours and meet-ups even on the sites that promote them. Fledgling kinksters need to know whether Bound is worth the price of admission or if the local TNG's "under 35" group actually only has members who are 40-60 (strange but true!).
The DC kink and BDSM scene is also a source of high drama and hilarity. Groups break up and reform around personal spats, new projects and events are always being hatched, and every now and then someone will get dragged into a broom closet at a public bar for an impromptu make out session.
A little about me: I've been involved in various kink scenes for the past two years, both online and off. My blog, Stuffies, chronicles my adventures in online dating (http://molly-ren.tumblr.com), but I've been writing website copy, news articles, and reviews on a variety of subjects since 2007. If you'd be interested in something like this for your blog or website, email me at missmollyren@gmail.com.
There is a strong argument to be made that I'm the world's greatest trivia writer and quizmaster. Thousands of satisfied customers, not enough steady work. Check out bigquizthing.com, and e-mail noah@bigquizthing.com. I'm in NYC, but that never stopped anyone.
