If you want to make your head explode: Take every speech by every Republican gasbag complaining about how we need to urgently address the deficit because it's not fair to saddle our grandchildren with our debt, and replace "the deficit" with "global warming."
At least we'll all have health care and mildly protective massive financial oversight bureaucracies for when we lose 3 trillion dollars worth of seaside property and businesses in the next 50 years.
If we are unable to enact legislation now, in the midst of that horrific oil spill, then it's clearly NEVER going to be a priority. We are getting to the point where we pretty much deserve whatever shitty thing happens next.
