Because Why Should Your World Make Sense, Here's Video Of Aretha Dueting With Condoleezza Rice On "I Say A Little Prayer"

"Aretha Franklin and Condoleezza Rice teamed up on Tuesday night at the Mann Center for the Performing Arts in Philadelphia for a concert to benefit inner-city youth programs and education initiatives." Which, sure, seems like an unusual pairing now, but will be totally forgotten after current Secretary of State Hillary Clinton teams up with Angus Young to perform a very special version of "Whole Lotta Rosie" at daughter Chelsea's wedding this weekend.

Fine, whatever, good for her, sounds like a fine cause.

But: Was that tape edited with hedge clippers?

Actually, some people may not be aware of this but back in the mid 70s Aretha Franklin was first lady during the George Clinton administration. I believe Richard Pryor was the minister of education back then and the scandal-plagued Reverend Ike the secretary of the treasury. Caspar Weinberger was secretary of state.

You don't need the bullet when you got the ballot.

This is unfortunate because I had actually managed to forget about Condoleeeeezzzzza (sp?) Rice for a while.

I was hoping Bill and Angus would sing "Big Balls".

And who could forget Henry Kissinger teaming up with Deep Purple for that rousing rendition of "Schmoke Onna Vater"?

All I heard was Aretha Franklin, Condoleezza Rice, and getting teamed.
