To be fair, there was a memorial firework in the shape of Ursa Major.
Would people be that freaked out if they hadn't killed the poor creature? Would they be living in fear because some random bear, likely terrified by mysterious explosions in his or her backyard, became suddenly "aggressive" and was not executed for it? I hate people.
