Wedding Reception Crowd Says "Yahoo!" And Means It
Sometimes people groan when the DJ at a wedding reception plays Kool and the Gang's "Celebrate!" Sometimes people dance silly on purpose or sing along ironically. There was a wedding in New Jersey on Saturday at which it's probably safe to assume that the reaction was more fully heartfelt. It's a nice story.

Ok, it's Monday, and I'm a little grumpy, but still:
"'Celebration,' of which her father was a writer."
"Of which her father was a writer"?!?
According to Wikipedia, "Celebration" had like ten writers. Did her mom sleep with everyone in the group and when asked she just told her daughter that her dad was one of the writers to save herself some embarrassment?
Alright. Screw it. I'll admit it. I like that song, despite however many bar mitzvahs and fireworks displays it's accompanied. Having now been subjected to BEP at a few weddings, I feel it is folly to complain about "Celebration."
When Kool is in attendance, you can be sure there will be a celebration. Also a white polyester suit.
My brother-in-law's favorite song is "Celebration". He was really excited when it came on at his own wedding.
Also: this. You're welcome.
