Apart from financing the study, financial links to the authors, such as payments for lectures, may tend to make the results of the study more favourable for the company. Not only the results themselves, but also their interpretation, are significantly more often in accordance with the wishes of the sponsor." Funny, I put in a request with the Dept. of No Shit (utilizing their search/query, "Sherlock") regarding studies showing that despite advertised promises, Cash4Gold.com was paying pennies on the dollar for reclaimed Zales products, but I haven't gotten a response and it's been weeks!

i can't wait to read the full article in next month's issue of Duh Aficionado
