Big Boi, "Shutterbugg"
The video for "Shutterbugg," the spry new-ish single from Big Boi's forthcoming Sir Lucious Left Foot: The Son Of Chico Dusty, is pretty bare-bones (guess the Crown Royal sponsorship cash wasn't that much), but that doesn't make the clip any less fun: there's a lighthearted decapitation of Big Boi, a couple of Tron-costumed dancers making with the futuristic sexytime, and a wall display of Solo cups that you probably shouldn't recreate at your next keg party because it would probably last 15-20 minutes before turning into a heap of brightly colored plastic. I bet Anne Boelyn (+ all the rest of Henry the Headchopper's friends and acquaintances) would've appreciated a lighthearted decapitation with a complimentary glass of Crown on the Rocks- with a nice hiphop beat from the DJ.
+10 for Tron People!
On the other side of the screen, it all looks so easy.
I would watch the video but the still alone is disturbing the hell out of me.
I feel like 2/3rds of the graphic effects in this are total ripoffs. I know I've seen the book-flipping face, the decapitated singer and the paused VCR effects in other videos.
Playful, i like it.
Impressed with the style and moves of the 'futuristic' dancers — however shortly after I realized this was just another video centered on 'video hoes' and effacing the strong feminine.
The lighting and colors are very cool. I don't agree with some of the camera angles. After a while the shots of him in the warehouse in the center of the frame with the minimalist backdrop look flat and boring. For those shots, they should have added way more visual interest to the set or changed the angle of the camera. They could have played a lot more with color here given the very neat palette they chose.
TRON. How could anyone not like this video?
